How do I use it?
Click the whip icon in the menu bar and the whip appears at your cursor. Move the mouse quickly to crack it. Click anywhere to drop it. Right-click the icon for Settings, Launch at Login and Quit.
It cracks, but nothing happens in my terminal
- Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Accessibility and turn on DigitalWhip.
- Click into your terminal before grabbing the whip, so it is the frontmost app.
- Right-click the menu bar icon: the Last crack line tells you whether the message was sent or why it was skipped.
My terminal isn't recognised
By default DigitalWhip only types into known terminals and code editors (Terminal, iTerm2, Warp, Ghostty, kitty, Alacritty, WezTerm, Hyper, VS Code, Cursor, Zed, Windsurf). Turn off “Only when a terminal or code editor is frontmost” in Settings, or email me the app's name and I'll add it.
Esc or Ctrl+C?
Esc interrupts Claude Code safely. Ctrl+C also works, but pressing it twice on an idle prompt may quit the session, so Esc is the default.
It's too hard (or too easy) to crack
Move the Sensitivity slider in Settings towards Easy (or Hard).
I can't see the menu bar icon
On MacBooks with a notch, crowded menu bars can hide icons. Hold ⌘ and drag other icons out of the way, or quit a few menu bar apps.

A menüsor ikonra jobb klikkelve a „Last crack” sor mutatja, mi történt.
